Music
The SCMA is like mini-music conservatory
Music Classes
Our classroom music instruction includes reading and writing music, vocal and instrument performance. Upper level classes (grades 5-8) may include guitar, band, contemporary band, orchestra, and choir.
What is 'Academic Enrichment'?
At the SCMA, academic enrichment is an addition to, not a substitute for, regular homeschool curriculum. For more information, see our 'Academics' page.
Fun Moments and Memories

One of the secrets of a great performance is having a great accompanist (for this concert, Mr. Warren). In this the picture, the kindergartners enjoy listening to the beginning band.
The theme for this Christmas concert was 'Life in America.' The first graders sang, "Christmas for Cowboys", complete with the tipping of their hats.
Although Mr. Shiloh studied classical piano at the university, his first love is - and always will be - percussion!
The sound of these angelic middle students is inexpressible. Students at the Academy learn how to read and perform music - starting at a very early age!
Fourth graders typically learn to read instrumental music on recorders - which has similar fingerings to a clarinet or saxophone.
The SCMA also includes enrichment in math, English, art, science, PE, and offers support for homeschool parents in the way of helping to motivate their student and in connecting with other students and their parents. Thank you for considering the SCMA!
